Growing Coffee From Seeds in 4 Easy Steps
#1 | Because coffee seeds can be a little finicky, we recommend using 3-4 seeds to get a single plant. Soak your coffee seeds in warm water for 24 hours.
#2 | Remove your coffee seeds from water, and sow seeds in damp sand. This sand should be in a container where it can drain quickly. The seeds should be watered twice per day. Coffee seeds take 2-6 months to germinate, so stay patient.
#3 | Once your coffee seeds have germinated very carefully remove them from the sand. Mix 1-part sand with 1-part potting soil to create a loamy mix. Make a 1/2 inch deep hole, and place your seed (flat side down). Lightly cover the seed with soil and gently place a 1/2 inch of mulched grass on top to preserve the moisture content.
# 4 | Your coffee seedlings need consistent moisture (Check every single day). Too much water or too little water will kill the seedling. Your soil should remain well drained, but moist at all times.
