Growing Mouse Melon From Seed In 4 Simple Steps
# 1 | You are going to want to have patience with your mouse melon seeds. Cucamelons can be tricky to germinate if growing from seed. Start by planting your mouse melon seeds in high-quality moist seed starter mix and place the pots on heat mats in a cool greenhouse or greenhouse-like space. It can take up to three weeks for seeds to germinate.
# 2 | Once your mouse melon seedlings have their second set of leaves, repot each plant into its own 4” pot with good potting soil
# 3 | If you live in an area where nighttime temps stay above 50 degrees F, you may transplant your mouse melon seedlings outside after hardening the plants off for a week. Otherwise, you can replant into a 5-gallon indoor container. Make sure its made of clay and has plenty of drain holes.
# 4 | Give your mouse melon plants a tall support structure. Use at least 5′-6’ high supports as the cucamelon are climbing vines and do and can grow quite tall.
