🌸 Violet Hollyhock Flowers Farm Grown
Our Violet Hollyhock flowers (Althaea rosea, also classified as Alcea rosea) are whole blossoms, hand-picked at peak color and air-dried to lock in their deep violet hue and soft, soothing mucilage. In the cup they carry layered notes of licorice, a dry whisper of straw, and a soft finish of cherry. They are naturally caffeine-free, which makes them a calm, beautiful base for herbal teas, color-shifting infusions, botanical smoking blends, natural dyes, and craft projects.
These blossoms are grown on our own farm in Colorado, where we farm soil-first using biological methods. That ground earned a Haney Soil Health Score of 25.4, a number that surpasses the soil biology measured in pristine forest land. Hollyhock is a classic demulcent flower, meaning it is naturally rich in the gentle, slippery mucilage also prized in its close relative marshmallow. Brewed on its own it gives a pale violet cup, and a small squeeze of lemon shifts the anthocyanins toward bright pink. It layers beautifully with Butterfly Pea Flower for deeper indigo tones, or with Raspberry Leaf as a smooth, neutral base in teas and smoking blends.
