Mexican petunia require little care, and can be planted in full sun to partial shade. The Mexican petunia is a rare plant that can tolerate both drought and wet conditions once established. Your Mexican petunia will grow best in a planting mix that is fertile with compost or well-rotted manure, but it is adaptable to almost all kinds of soil. Over time your Mexican petunia will multiply, creating a colony around the original stem. To keep your Mexican Petunia groomed, pull or cut the stems annually. In areas that receive frost over the winter, some of the evergreen foliage may freeze and die, clip the damaged leaves to allow for new growth.
